Literacy Club children with Ahsan and our assistant Muhammad had an amazing time meeting with Baroness Bull online, Deputy Speaker of the House of Lords and a former BBC governor.
They had each completed detailed projects on the parliamentary system and role of the House of Lords beforehand and prepared some wonderful questions to ask - these were curated by Muhammad and led to a fascinating session indeed.
We all learned a great deal from Baroness Bull about how the House of Lords contributes to our wider democracy - and are grateful for the opportunity.
Tukeer Hussain, a Grammar School boy from Birmingham, also attended to talk to children about his experience working in the House of Lords and taking up roles in policy and economics. His insight and ability to answer the myriad of questions from the children was amazing!
